The Lake District, also commonly known as The Lakes or Lakeland, is a mountainous region in North West England and home to England's largest National Park along with Scafell Pike, its highest mountain and Wastwater, its deepest lake. A popular holiday destination, it is famous not only for its lakes, forests and mountains (or fells), but also for its associations with the early 19th century poetry and writings of William Wordsworth and the other Lake Poets.
The lodge is located in the very heart of the Lakes on the shores of Lake Windermere between the villages of Ambleside and Bowness with their excellent range of shops and restaurants. It offers the perfect opportunity to explore one of the most beautiful parts of England. Renowned as the adventure capital of the UK, walking, cycling, sailing, golf, fishing, windsurfing, climbing and bird watching are just a few of the many pursuits on offer.
The lodge is situated in White Cross Bay which has a range of great facilities. For relaxing there's the picnic area, marina and countryside with bird watching in the woodland backdrop. To unwind there's the indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and gymnasium. For gourmets there's the Flying Boat restaurant and many more pubs in neighbouring villages. There’s also entertainment in the bar and organised activities during peak holiday times.
