Siskin Lodge is located in Aynsome Manor Park just half a mile from Cartmel.

Cartmel is situated at the southern end of the Lake District Peninsula, very close to both the shores of Morecambe Bay and to Lake Windermere. The nearest town of any size is Grange-Over-Sands, a tranquil and charming Edwardian resort located three miles away.

Apart from the Priory, Cartmel’s other interesting feature must surely be its historic market square, surrounded by centuries old houses and Inns, the ancient fish slabs still survive and also the original Gatehouse. Nowadays Cartmel is full of interesting shops, and known for its famous sticky toffee pudding.

Within a short drive is the renowned beauty of the Lake District National Park, offering some of the most spectacular scenery in the country with opportunities for walking, sailing or just sightseeing.

Travelling by Car

Leave M6 at  Jn 36 and follow A590 towards Barrow for about 10 miles.



Directions

Follow A590 west for Ulverston and Barrow.  At the end of the dual carriageway at the top of the long steep hill turn left for Cartmel ( 3 miles).  Follow signs for Cartmel for approx 2 1⁄2 miles.  Watch for the sign Aynsome Manor Hotel, turn right into narrow lane.  Go past North Gate entrance to Aynsome Manor Park, turn right and go past the hotel entrance then take first right at West Gate entrance.  Siskin Lodge, number 22, is on the left after the second speed bump.
